The BEIS in the media blog has been revised and refreshed to give an overview of news stories about the department’s work, provide a platform for rebuttals and an opportunity for the user to read ministerial opinions in their own words.
Whether it is a story about a space mission, ways the government is helping the country reduce carbon emissions, or news about innovative new businesses, the intention is to inform you about the work we are doing at BEIS and what is being said about it.
Here we will tell our readers what the media is saying and highlight some of our most important announcements. We will reflect the full and accurate position of the department, with quotes from our ministers and supporting information. Our ministers will also be able to tell the user, what they think in more detail, or what their position is on a variety of topics.
The media team are looking forward to using the opportunity to reach out to and inform the general public, journalists, commentators, researchers, businesses, scientists, entrepreneurs – indeed anyone who has an interest in the enormous variety of work we do here.
Our priorities are ambitious but achievable. From reaching net zero by 2050, to improving gender equality at work, from committing to spend 2.4% of GDP on Research and Development by 2027, to maximising investment opportunities and bolstering UK interests as we leave the EU.
We are looking forward to sharing our work with you. Don't forget to subscribe for updates and follow us on Twitter @beisgovuk.
